1. What is Quobics?
Quobics is an AI-powered data analysis platform that allows you to:
- Upload data files (CSV, Excel, JSON) which are processed locally in your browser
- Ask questions about your data in natural language
- Generate visualizations and insights using AI
- Create dashboards from your analysis results
Key Privacy Feature: Your uploaded data files are stored locally in your browser and are never permanently stored on our servers.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Demo Access Request (Optional)
If you request demo access through our website, we collect:
- Full name
- Email address
- Company name (optional)
- Phone number (optional)
- Message/inquiry (optional)
This information is used solely to provide you with demo credentials and communicate about the service.
2.2 Account Information
When you use the service with provided credentials:
- Account ID: A 9-digit anonymous identifier (auto-generated)
- Password: Securely hashed using bcrypt (never stored in plain text)
- Device fingerprint: Used for security and abuse prevention only
2.3 Session Information
- Session tokens: Stored in your browser's session storage (cleared when browser closes)
- Chat conversations: Your questions and AI responses are stored in our database, linked to your anonymous account ID
- Onboarding preferences: Your data comfort level, technical expertise, and insight preferences
2.4 Usage Data
We track minimal metrics for service operation:
- Number of AI queries used (for plan limits)
- Session activity timestamps
- Cookie consent preferences
2.5 Feedback Data
When you provide feedback (after using your query limit), we collect:
- Satisfaction score
- Features you liked or disliked
- Suggestions for improvement
- Pricing feedback
3. Your Data Files
Important: Your uploaded data files (CSV, Excel, JSON) are processed and stored locally in your browser. They are never uploaded to our servers for permanent storage.
3.1 Local Processing
When you upload a file:
- The file is parsed entirely in your browser using JavaScript
- Data is stored in your browser's local storage
- We do not receive or store your raw data files
3.2 AI Analysis
When you ask questions about your data, we send data to our AI service provider (OpenRouter) for analysis:
- Demo Plan: Up to 1,000 rows and 100 columns are sent per query
- Data is transmitted securely via HTTPS
- Data is used only to generate your answer and is not stored by the AI service after processing
- Your questions and AI responses are stored in our database for conversation history
4. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and maintain the data analysis service
- Enforce usage limits (15 queries per demo account)
- Prevent abuse and unauthorized access
- Gather feedback to improve the service
- Communicate with you about your demo access
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with:
- OpenRouter: Our AI service provider. Your data rows are sent for analysis but not stored after processing.
- Google Analytics: For website usage analytics (anonymized data only)
- Hosting Provider (Hostinger): For database and API hosting
6. Data Security
We implement security measures including:
- SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmission
- Passwords hashed with bcrypt (cost factor 12)
- Session tokens stored in browser session storage (cleared on browser close)
- Rate limiting on authentication endpoints
- Input validation and sanitization
7. Session Behavior
For your security:
- Sessions persist while your browser is open (including across tabs)
- Sessions are automatically cleared when you close your browser
- You must sign in again when reopening your browser
- You can manually sign out at any time
8. Data Retention
- Demo request information: Retained until demo period ends or you request deletion
- Chat history: Retained with your account; you can flush (delete) messages at any time
- Feedback data: Retained for service improvement purposes
- Your uploaded files: Stored only in your browser; cleared when you clear browser data

You have the right to:
- Access: Request information about data we hold about you
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Flush chat history: Delete your conversation history within the app
- Clear local data: Clear your browser's local storage to remove uploaded files
